EPISODE #11 - TIFFANY DOES COOL SH!T
Tiffany Kataria is a scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Yep. THAT NASA. She creates models that study the atmospheres of exoplanets. Since she was young, Tiffany has always been passionate about learning. She was the kid who took out 25 books at the library and read them ALL. Her love for math and science in high school led her into physics and astronomy programs in college. Thanks to her killer mind and kickass career, she has gotten to travel the world to study our universe and give talks at some festivals you might have heard of like SXSW.
On this episode, we talk about how Tiffany found her way to a career in exoplanets, what it means to be a woman of color in an industry dominated by white men, and the kickass projects she is working on now.
Tiffany doles out what it is like to be in school for 9+ years and gets real about how hard it is to be in a single the career and then possibly a single project for the rest of your life. We talk how a good mentor can change your career, what it means to be in a role that is funded by the government, how she is using her platform to make sure women in science are being highlighted and I compare studying the atmospheres of planets to figuring out your career (yeah. I did that.)
